NEWS FROM OUR PASTOR
It is so refreshing to enter into the fall
season. During this season we see God’s
great work in His creation. As you
behold the changing of the leaves on the trees, stop and thank God for the
beauty and splendor He allows you to see.
We are seeing God at work in our midst
each week. What a marvelous Sunday we
experienced on September 26th.
The Lord was there in His power and might. I enjoy it when the Holy Spirit takes control
and takes us in a different direction than we planned. We do our best to be prepared for each
service but it is so refreshing when the Holy Spirit moves on our hearts and
helps us understand the Lord wanted something different for that very
service. Isn’t it so good to know the
Lord knows what we need better than we do?
To God be the glory great things He has done!
I am looking forward to Sunday morning the
3rd as we have the privilege of ordaining Kyle Hyatt as a
Deacon. It is so exciting to see our
young men being faithful to the Lord’s work and ministry. I want to encourage you to be here to support
Kyle in this important time of his life.
Would you please pray for me as I will be
preaching revival services at Greater
Do not forget the Fall Festival on October
23rd from 4 to 6:30 pm. We
are in need of candy for this event.
Please drop it off in the container located outside the office or in the
box in the foyer. WE will never know this side of heaven what a difference we
make in people’s lives. I am glad I
pastor a church where they have a love for the people in the community. Always remember that most of our community
will probably never attend church on Sundays but they will come to the Fall
Festival and we will have the opportunity to tell them about Jesus. Let’s pray for the salvation of souls at the
Fall Festival.
Let me mention that we had a good group of
people interested in the mission trip to
It is such a joy being your pastor. Thank you for allowing me the freedom of
preaching God’s Holy, inerrant, infallible and inspired Word. You are very special and loving people. Always remember that Jesus loves you and so
do Carol and I. May God bless every one
of you.

Roger
CHILDREN’S
NEWS
Have you seen our fenced in play
area? All of us in the children’s
ministry are so excited to have a safe and grassy place to play. The children can hardly wait to get out there
and enjoy it. We want to thank you all
from the bottom of our hearts. A special
thanks to the men and women who came out to prepare the lot for the fence. You all worked really hard and we appreciate
you. God provided this lot for
October 23rd, we will be having our Fall
for Jesus Festival. If you have not
signed up to help with the games, serve the food, or provide a decorated
automobile for Trunk or Treat, it is not too late. WE NEED YOU!!
We will need lots of individually wrapped candies, baked goods (for the
cake walk), potato chips, and soft drinks.
This is more than a play-time for our children,
it is a ministry opportunity for our church.
Every year I have people tell me how amazing it is to see a church
provide so much for visitors and members alike.
You have always given so generously and I praise God for each of you and
your friends and the neighborhood. This
may be the only time some of these visitors ever set foot in God’s House. I want to encourage YOU to help our visitors
experience the love of Jesus while they are with us. You may be the only Christian they meet
before Jesus comes to claim His own. Will
they be ETERNALLY glad that they met you at the Fall
for Jesus Festival?
John 13:34-35 says, “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one
another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples,
if ye have love one to another.”
Eternally
Rejoicing,
Felicia

YOUTH NEWS
It is so encouraging to see young people
getting excited about being in church and for them to see God at work for
themselves. I have told our youth over
and over that Pastor Roger and I do not get together and discuss what he is going
to preach or what I am going to teach.
Yet, many Sundays they will come and say we just learned about that
sermon on Wednesday night or in Sunday School.
I just say, “It’s a God thing.” I
tell them God wanted to make sure they understood the scripture or the story in
case they needed to use it in witnessing.
I ask each of you adults to please continue to pray daily for the youth
at
As we enter this fall season and take in
the beauty of what God has created, may we never forget that people all around
us are lost and on their way to a devil’s hell.
I ask you to make a goal for yourself to share what Jesus has done for
you to at least one person each week.
You can do it! Talk to Jesus and
ask for courage and you will be blown away at what you can do in the name of
Jesus. Remember, Jesus’ desire for you
is to prevail – not fail.
YOUTH, please begin to pray about our Fall
Retreat. I will be putting out a sign-up
sheet for our Winter Retreat in Pigeon Forge,

MUSIC NEWS
Van De Venter was involved in his church
through counseling and teaching. His
friends urged him to think about becoming an evangelist. For five years he thought about it. He wrote:
“At last the pivotal hour of my life came and I surrendered all.” He was ushered into a new era of his
life. He became an evangelist and
discovered down deep in his soul a talent up until that time was unknown. God had hidden a song in his heart, and by
touching a chord He caused him to sing songs he had never sung before. Shortly after this time J.W. Van De Venter
wrote the hymn, “I Surrender All”.
All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I
freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, in His presence daily live. Wow!
And that was just the first verse.
